At the Source
This project is done as a competition entry for the Organic winery guest center in Italy. It was named “At the Source” as the whole concept evolves around the central point from which the geometry evolves. The such design strategy was taken to ensure the quality of the energy field created by the architecture. Such composition is also creating the feeling of the unity of the place. Each of the 5 guest houses have full privacy as well as fluidity of the inner and outer spaces. The central, communal space is nicely defined by the bold rammed earth walls of the 5 guest houses. Dining and testing facilities merge with the open central area allowing guests to flow with ease between enjoying the wine, dining, swimming, sun taking, fire watching….
The Wine Guest Center “At the Source” is a small, happy, self-oriented universe.
It’s mostly green (roofs and grass and trees and shrubs…) and a little blue (natural swimming pool). A lot of earth is there to lean on (rammed earth walls). There is almost no difference between inside and outside (glass walls). Wood carries the load and gives a warm touch (decking, structural roof elements, pergola, benches…). Stones hold the ground (stone plates in the lawn and paving of pea gravel and crushed stone) and some steel columns are there to elegantly resist gravity…
